Jumping through hoops…. that’s what the adoption journey feels like! And the longer the journey is, the more hoops we’re jumping through. We received our update package from CAFAC about aweek ago. It’s once again time to update the ol’ homestudy and dossier paperwork… another hoop to jump through. It’s starting to feel like we have to prove that we’re suitable parents over, and over and over again! I know the law requires that all paperwork has to be current, but really, if we were suitable parents a year ago, we’ll still be suitable parents today, don’t ya think?? It just gets very tiring. Having to go for medical check ups, criminal record checks, doing the paper chase gathering all required documents. And spending more money to have everything updated!*Sigh* When will it end???
I guess if there’s anything we could say to our future daughter, it would be this:
It’s a little early, but Happy Valentines Day little one! We can’t wait for you to come home!
Connie and Wayne are the parents of one child, whom they adopted from Ethiopia in 2008 at the age of 7 months. They are in the process of adopting a second child from Ethiopia.
